The old schoolhouse in Columbia State Historic Park
Wow! This weekend we received an amazing review from retired librarian Ginny Gustin, MLS. Ginny served as the chairperson for American Library Association’s Children’s Notable Recordings Committee. We are JAZZED about her delightful and thorough review! Here are some snipppets:
“I’ve listened to your new CD twice now, and I am very, very impressed. . . Teachers will really love this as a resource for their students. Anyone interested in California history will be happy to discover your CD. Libraries and museums should have it . . . I like the chronological approach, and the way both full songs and snippets of tunes are interspersed within the stories. . . I hope that other folks will share my enthusiasm!” from Ginny Gustin, former chair of the American Library Association’s Children’s Notable Recordings Committee
And sure enough, Ginny recommends that we submit our CD to this same committee to be considered for their next round of awards. Thank you, Ginny!!!!
P.S. I met Ginny when I told stories for the Santa Monica Public Library (1994 or so) when she was one of their children’s librarians. Later she was a Branch Librarian for Sonoma County Library System. Ginny invited The Story Quilters to tell stories for her library patrons. She was such a wonderful children’s librarian! Now she enjoys quilting, her cat, her hubby and fixing up their new home.
